Those
of us at the Lazy E-L Ranch have had a long history of
improving our own horsemanship skills. In the 1960s and
early 70s Joyce Mackay raised reining horses and
sponsored some of the first Ray Hunt clinics in the
country. Since then we have hosted Joe Wolters, Pat
Parelli and other clinicians for summer clinics. As our
horsemanship skills have developed over the years, so
have those of our guests and friends who have
participated in these clinics.
Experienced Western or English riders will feel
at home in the saddle on the E-L, but don't worrry if
you have never ridden a horse or wish to simply brush up
on your skills. Our Wrangler and Assistant Wranglers are
accomplished horsemen and horsewomen who are here to
make your horsemanship goals a reality. With a wide
range of horses in our string, you will be paired with a
mount |
| that matches your abilities. You have the chance
to progress and advance the level of the horse you ride
as you gain new skills. Taking a one-on-one Western
riding lesson from a Wrangler often brings new
confidence and understanding in the horse- person
relationship. |
For the safety of both horse and rider, we ask
that a signed doctor's release accompany you to the barn
if you have any serious medical issues. A maximum rider
weight of 275 pounds keeps our horses healthy and
balanced through rough terrain. |
